The golden fish may carry scars,
she may have wounds, maimed fins;
she ages, moving more slowly,
but she swims on, giving thanks
for the beauty that still exists around her.
She cannot know what is ahead,
what further challenges,
or how far she has to go;
she swims because
that is what God created her to do,
And she is beautiful in His eyes.
